What the yard buys
This is the yard buying, not selling. We take most types of vehicle, including scrap, whether it still runs or has been sitting for a while. If it is taking up space on your driveway or your lot in the Chicagoland area, it is worth a call to Patterson Road before you assume nobody wants it.
There is no single shape a vehicle has to be in to get an offer. A car, truck or SUV that is done being driven can still be worth something to a yard set up to take it apart properly, which is a different question than whether it would pass an inspection.

How the estimate works
Call the counter or send the details through our contact form, and a free estimate comes back in one to two days. That window is the same one used for locating a hard-to-find part, someone actually looking at what you have described rather than reading off a fixed script.
The more detail you give up front, year, make, model and the condition it is in, the faster that estimate can move. English or Spanish, the counter on Patterson Road will take the call either way.
Chapter 03
Pickup, once you agree a price
Once a price is agreed, pickup is next day. You do not have to find a way to get the vehicle to us, which matters most for anything that does not run or is not safe to drive.
Same-day service applies elsewhere in the yard, but for a vehicle purchase, next-day pickup is the number to plan around once you and the counter have settled on a figure.
What to have ready
Have the title and the keys ready before you call, since that is what actually moves a sale along on the day of pickup. Know where the vehicle is sitting and whether it rolls under its own power or needs to be winched or towed out, because that changes how the pickup gets arranged.
Beyond that, just describe what you have honestly when you call. The estimate is built around what the vehicle actually is, not what it might have been before whatever put it out of service.
