The yard pulls automatics, manuals and CVTs off donor vehicles across both domestic and import makes, so the shelf is not built around one drivetrain family. A CVT off a compact sedan sits next to a heavy-duty automatic off a work truck, tested the same careful way regardless of which one it is.

The part people order twice
A transmission gets ordered wrong more often than almost anything else on the shelf, because the year, make and model alone do not settle it. The same model built across a few production years can pair the same badge with two or three different transmission codes, and drive type changes the picture again: a front-wheel-drive transaxle and an all-wheel-drive unit off the same platform are not interchangeable, whatever the badge on the trunk says.
Bring the engine code alongside the year, make, model and drive type, and bring the transmission's own tag or the VIN if either is within reach. Ninety days on a mechanical part
Transmissions fall under the mechanical-parts guarantee, ninety days from the date on the receipt. That covers the unit doing what a transmission is supposed to do once it is installed, not a general promise against every possible fault a used component could develop down the road.

Cores, and the restocking rule if a return is approved
If the deal includes a core, it has to come back within ninety days, drained of fluid, with the invoice in hand. No invoice at the counter means no refund on the core, full stop, and the clock does not pause for anyone.
An approved return outside the core itself carries a restocking fee, twenty dollars or twenty-five percent, whichever comes out higher. Nobody enjoys hearing that after the fact, so it is stated here plainly rather than left for the return trip to Patterson Road to surface it.
